Nene Gar???

My Mom went off to England to visit my sister who is spending the year at Oxford as a college exchange student type thing. She's gone for a whole 3 weeks. I am rarely away from her for that long, so it's kinda weird. Sort of nice and sort of ....nice.

Side note: I asked her to try and find me the baby wee wee pee pee doll, I'm SO excited to get my hands on this naughty little thing. (see video link here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76B4hG_wLJs) I was going to just embed it but it's not working.

I also hope it [the doll] somehow helps with potty training, or something. Yeah, uh, that's why I'm getting it....not for myself, for GABE. It's so nice to have a child to blame for buying the toys you always wanted to play with. Would that be classified as using your child for your own gain?


Anyway back to the point of this post. Gabe misses his Grandma so much. Before he was born she decided that she wanted to be called Nene (prn. nay nay ...don't ask) luckily nene is an easy word for him to say so it works out well. Also for some reason up until yesterday Gabe has always pronounced car simply "AH" I'm not quite sure why he doesn't at least say CAH...But anyway, yesterday he stood at the front window ALL day pointing at my Mom's car (oh, she left it here while she's gone) saying "Nene Gar?? Nene gar!!!" It made me soooo sad for him, he either thought she was here or was asking for her to come like "My Nene's CAR is here, why isn't SHE here?" :(

I'm also just in awe of watching a child learn language, how it progresses from simply crying, into coos, babbles, then how they can put labels on things, start saying single words, then 2 words together, 3 words together, putting concepts together etc etc etc. It is just amazing and one of my favorite things in the world to witness.
